Corbett Land Strategies Inc. is a rapidly growing planning and land development firm offering a wide range of residential, industrial and commercial land use planning expertise.  We specialize in providing private and public sector clients with community planning, strategic development and land use approvals advice as well as landowner group management.  Located in Burlington, Ontario, CLS provides services to clients throughout the GTA.

 

THE OPPORTUNITY

Due to a rapidly expanding client base, CLS requires the services of an experienced planner to fill the role of Senior Planner to join our team.  This is the perfect opportunity to advance e your career with a rapidly growing firm in the western GTA with an exciting portfolio of projects and clients.  You will have the opportunity to work alongside highly respected professionals and report directly to the senior leaders of the firm with respect to:

• Urban and community planning/urban design

• Development feasibility

• Development approvals

• Land acquisition strategies

• Project management

• Development and landowner co-ordination

• Expert and advisory services

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

In the position of Senior Planner, you will expand your expertise in land use planning and development approvals by your ability to:

• Analyze the planning status of potential development sites;

• Provide input into project budgets and proformas;

• Provide input/advice into development design and project management

• Prepare complete applications

• Co-ordinate and manage consultants

• Manage projects and files

• Prepare Planning Justification reports

• Make presentations to Clients, Councils and Committees, the Public and other bodies as required

 

SKILLS

The ideal candidate will have the ability to:

• Research and analyze project sites

• Provide input into projects

• Apply advanced project management skills

• Prepare municipal development applications including the determination of information requirements including Official Plan,      Zoning By-laws, Site Plans, Severances, Minor Variance, Draft Plans of Subdivision

• Coordinate related agency approvals

• Review consultant reports and design submissions

• Problem solving

• Communicate both verbally and through report writing and presentations

• Work with minimal supervision

• Work on cross-functional teams and projects

 

QUALIFCATIONS

• University degree in Planning or related field

• Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in the development industry or local municipality

• Solid knowledge of Ontario Planning legislation and regulations

• Designation as an RPP preferred

• Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence

• Access to a vehicle required
